The purpose of this study is to analyze how university libraries in America preserve their collections as a means to improve the preservation techniques of university libraries in Korea. Three university libraries - Harvard, Yale and Brown - were investigated through their homepage. The results of this analysis follows: the preservation departments or organizations are made, various activities are shown, lots of budgets are implemented for their activities. Several suggestions for improving preservation activities of university libraries in Korea are thrown under these results.
